Harvest Metanoia church desires to be a dynamic Christian community that structures our activities and efforts in the various ministries and sub-ministries as members of a Body (1 Corinthians 12) in accordance with our vision and the needs of the community.

I. Vision

This represents the ministry of the church which has as its purpose to formulate and promote the philosophy of ministry (purpose, vision, strategy, goals, etc.) specific to the church. This work is composed by other ministries or sub-ministries: preaching, elder team, church planting, representation of the Harvest Metanoia network of churches. The leader responsible for the vision of the church is the senior pastor.

Part of spearheading the vision is high-impact preaching in our church services. Through the preaching, the vision is transmitted, explained and the church is motivated to be involved practically . Therefore, the leader responsible for the church’s vision is generally the senior pastor and he plans his preaching calendar in terms of an annual theme, the yearly church structure, the speakers, their training and implementation of specific study materials in small groups in collaboration with the  leader of the small group ministry – the small group curriculum is determined by the preaching theme of the church.

The senior pastor is the one responsible for the vision of the church and is also the leader of our team of elders, which is the the forum of our church leadership.  The elders govern the church and oversee the direction, doctrine and church discipline. The elders aim to directly manage this by articulating, promoting, executing and evaluating the work of the ministry. Along with the elder team, the leader seeks to provide specific direction to other ministries, continuously assessing their dynamics and direction in accordance with the purpose and vision of the church.

This ministry of vision-casting has the responsibility of  identifying, observing, evaluating and assessing opportunities to plant new Harvest Metanoia churches in the Eastern European context (more specifically Romanian-speaking). These opportunities can be different, such as existing churches that wish to adopt and thereby transition to the philosophy of ministry at Harvest-Metanoia; or a group initiative that wants to start a Harvest Metanoia-type church; or a pastor or worker who desires to start a Harvest Metanoia-type church.  These initiatives fall under the umbrella of church planting. The leader of this ministry begins the process of identifying, observing, evaluating and assessing these opportunities in conjunction with the organization’s leadership, Harvest Bible Fellowship.

The leader responsible for the vision of the church (senior pastor) fulfills the role of representing and promoting   the church in Christian circles and in the general society such as conferences, communities of churches, official government forums, etc.

The work of vision-casting has the objective of establishing and maintaining national and international links with the Harvest Metanoia church network and also with Harvest Bible Fellowship.

II. Pastoral Care
Represents the ministry of the spiritual care of church members and is headed by an elder/pastor of the church and includes the following sub-ministries and areas of involvement:

It is a strategic area of the church that seeks to identify and integrate new individuals or families who attend church or people who have shown a desire and have fulfilled the necessary requirements to become members of the church.  The leader of this ministry also oversees the welcome team, ushers, and follow-up team.

Welcome team  – represents the team which has the objective of giving a friendly welcome to all people who come into our church to participate in our services. This team will have, if  necessary, other duties as well such as distributing flyers, directing different categories of people (children, people with disabilities, people with questions) towards their areas of interest, etc.

Ushers  – represents the team which has as objective of receiving and placing people in the main meeting room who want to participate in the weekend service and maintaining order and quiet during the church services. The people who make up this team have the responsibility of supervising the worship center before, during and after the church activities, helping people to have optimum conditions, directing participants, offering necessary responses and dealing with different kinds of situations or problems.

Follow-up team – represents the team which has as its main objective to “connect” (or interact) with people who have expressed the wish to be contacted (in the form of a sign-up sheet in the church bulletin).  They will contact people who have visited the church for the first time and have expressed a desire to be contacted by the church by phone or email or other means.  Also, in specific cases, the follow-up team will connect those who are seeking counseling, prayer, pastoral help with the ministries that are offered, or for new people, the next appropriate steps in assimilating into the church: meeting with pastors, membership class, small groups, etc.

This ministry ensures the organization and operation of special services and activities of the church: communion, baptism, baby dedications, weddings, engagements, funerals, wakes, visiting the sick, etc.  The person in charge of this ministry is an ordained pastor or an elder who can collaborate with other pastors and volunteers as needed to manage these religious duties.

The leader of this ministry together with the counseling team has the responsibility of meeting a person’s personal spiritual needs or of a group of church members and is the first person to offer pastoral help with spiritual problems or relational or family issues; this ministry provides: preventive counseling, pre-marital and marital counseling, resolving cases of addiction, evaluating and restoring church discipline issues and other spiritual cases.

This ministry has the responsibility to promote and streamline the prayer activities and events in the church.  Thus, creating a specific spiritual environment for  prayer, prayer meetings, events, and being constantly concerned about promoting this spiritual discipline in the church.

III. Worship

This represents the ministry of the church that pays attention to developing, streamlining and coordinating activities and service teams to ensure high impact services (on Sunday mornings), more specifically in the following areas:  music, sound, lighting, projection, decoration and production. The senior pastor is the shepherd in charge of the worship in the church, but the coordination of this ministry can be done by an elder or worship leader.

In collaboration with the senior pastor, the music director plans, prepares and carries out the worship time on Sunday, ensuring the quality and impact of those moments.  The senior pastor and music director are responsible and are continually concerned with the atmosphere and spiritual identity of the worship of the church.  The musical director participates in the selection of songs, organizes the worship program, communicates with the senior pastor, other volunteers, and other sub-ministries involved in achieving a worship service with impact. The music director also has the objective of identifying, training and involving people with musical skills and abilities.

Represents a special team that provides audio support and optimal performance of all the services in the church or special meetings planned and organized by the church leadership and the various ministries (youth, counseling, children, women’s ministry, etc.) .

Represents the team that ensures setting up the stage, pulpit and platform where main activities are happening, providing a  creative environment for the church service and for events, holidays and specific activities of the church. The leader of this team will be in touch with the pastor or the persons responsible for events  to determine the optimal setting and to prepare the main hall or other rooms of the church .

Represents the team which ensures optimum lighting conditions for both the hall and the stage during events planned and organized in the main meeting room.The leader of this team will collaborate and communicate with the producer to prepare the necessary brightness and tone for each meeting based on its specific needs.

Represents the ministry that provides technical support during the weekend service, offering and optimizing the possibility of projecting words and other files needed during worship, preaching and other presentations at the church.

Represents the person who coordinates all activities in the church services. He is responsible for communication, efficiency and oversight of all teams and ministries involved during church services or special events held in the church. He gathers all the data and the specific needs of each part of the church service and ensures that services flow smoothly.  The producer keeps in touch and sets the content, timing and sequence of all moments of the event  with the senior pastor, music director and ministry teams (sound, lighting, projection, special guests, etc.).

IV. Operations

This is the ministry that supervises, evaluates, streamlines and ensures the financial administrative activities of the church. It is coordinated by an elder or a deacon proposed by the elders. This area of ministry includes the following areas: secretarial, administrative, marketing, print, cashier, auditor

Represent a series of activities involving organizing and managing activities and data relating to the membership of the church; specific activities of the secretary  (briefings, telephone calls, print, filing, etc.), public relation activities  and support activities  of other ministries of the church (small groups, youth, children, counseling, etc.).

Represents the ministry that aims to supervise, maintain and manage the assets and work space for the church. This ministry organizes the cleaning and landscaping work of the church under the guidance of the management and operations ministries.

This involves promotional activities of the church and its activities both within and outside the community, also materials and specific initiatives such as flyers, banners, promotional materials, innovative commercials radio / TV, creative media tools, etc..

Provides material basis for the activities of the various ministries of the church by publishing and multiplying the various materials produced in or by Harvest-Metanoia church through its representatives.

This person ensures the proper performance of financial accounting in accordance with the law and current needs of the church (current expenses, wages, income, etc.).

Represents inner workings, legal monitoring and financial evaluation.  The objective is  the regular supervision of the financial and accounting activities of the church.

V. Media

The media ministry provides the transmission of biblical messages through  efficient and complementary  forms for contemporary society.  The leader of the media ministry should not be an elder but can be a deacon or another mature believer, competent in this area, proposed by elders of the church. Thus, this ministry provides the technical (multiplication, internet, radio and TV, etc.) and professional basis through which those involved can provide the gospel in various formats such as books, journals, brochures, CD/DVD, TV/radio shows.

The ministry which offers to the participants Christian materials produced by our church or other Christian authors in various forms such as books, CDs, DVDs, courses, specialized materials, Bibles, tracts, etc.

Represents the ministry that has the objective of the production and reproduction  of materials (CD/DVD) that include sermons, presentations, materials and musical recordings made during church events.

Represents the ministry that has as objective to ensure translation during church services in English for foreign participants in church services and activities.

Represents the specific technical type of activities with the purpose of  service transmission, church events and information via the internet, ensuring the proper functioning of the site of the church or other collaborators of the church.

Represents the work that provides the professionalism and technical support to record, prepare and deliver (where appropriate) video and audio of church activities and transmits them on their own (through internet) or makes them available to media partners (radio or television) with whom the church leadership have established a formal collaboration.

VI. Outreach

It represents the ministry of the church that identifies opportunities for involvement outside the community, and coordinates and evaluates the efforts of human involvement and financial support from the church in these situations.  The leader of this department should be a deacon or a believer with experience and passion for this kind of ministry.  The essential common point of these activities is  communicating the gospel and providing support in the spirit of the gospel in ways that match the vision and values of the church.

Represents the specific activities outside of the church through their desire to preach and share the gospel in different opportunities such as concerts, workshops, forums, conferences and special events of preaching the gospel in secular spaces, etc.

Represent opportunities for service and collaboration undertaken with other churches or Christian or government organizations which seek to promote the gospel and Christian values and support the network of Harvest Metanoia churches or other Christian communities and charities that were established by church leadership.

Represents the serving and helping activities in which the church through its representatives (pastors, leaders, small groups or members) meet others’ acute, real and urgent needs in the  spirit of the gospel and with the values of the church.  Charitable activities can be manifested through:  people in need, orphanages, poor families, Christian or governmental organizations with special needs,  humanitarian aid projects, etc.

VII. Children

This ministry includes specific activities of spiritual development for children of different ages in the church. It includes staff and volunteers trained to know the psychological and spiritual development of children and ensure the spiritual growth of the church’s children during church services or special events of the church. The ministry is coordinated by a believer (preferably a family of believers) who have a passion for children and realize the vision of the church and can transmit it to the children, teachers and volunteers in this ministry. This ministry  is a response to the spiritual and educational needs of children belonging to the church.  More than just entertainment and an appropriate way to help parents attend the church services, this ministry seeks intentionally to spiritually educate all the children in the Christian values and knowledge that appear constantly all around the church.

Activities are conducted in groups organized according to the age of children. The groups of children are

  • Infants – 0-3 years
  • Small group – 3-5 years
  • Medium Group – 5-7 years
  • Large Group  – 7-12 years

Children’s ministry also organizes evangelistic camps and Christian education appropriate for the different age groups of children.

VIII. Discipleship

Represents the ministry of the church that has as the main objective of the assessment and spiritual formation of believers under the guidance of the church vision like the community based upon the teachings of the holy Scriptures.  Moreover, this ministry supervises and evaluates the spiritual formation of the different areas of the church and helps streamline and align them with the fundamental values of the community.  The leader of this ministry should be an elder or a pastor. This work is actualized in the following areas:

Represents the ministry that has as its aim the design and development of spiritual education materials (brochures, ongoing catechism classes, training materials, etc.) necessary for the edification of church believers in the various structures of the church, small groups, target groups, catechism, youth, etc.

This is the area of ministry that considers the coordination, management and ongoing evaluation of small groups within the church, and ensuring the constant training, equipping and evaluation of small group leaders and assistants.  To better understand this important work of the church, look at the tab “small groups”.

Represents the ministry that develops the strategy, objectives and specific activities for ministering to adolescents and young adults in the church.  The responsible person of this ministry and the collaborating team seek to respond dynamically and in a relevant way to the specific needs of this age group with activities, materials and events that ensure youth evangelism and healthy spiritual growth in the light and vision of biblical values assumed by the church. The youth ministry also organizes camps, outings and special events for young people.

Represents the ministry that meets the specific needs of Christian women in the church by organizing creative and educational events specifically for building relationships, training and spiritual edification.

Represents the ministry that meet the specific needs of Christian men in the church by organizing relevant events specifically for building relationships, training and spiritual edification.


Represents the ministry that meets the specific needs of older people in the church by organizing events specifically for building relationships, training and spiritual edification.

Represents educational opportunities and training that are targeted towards participants in the church who are defined by a shared interest in a topic or theme.  The target groups can can represent training circles in the following areas: finance management, family life, raising children, addiction, catechism and initiation into the life of faith, apologetics, scriptural study, etc.
